About Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a technique that helps training an individual’s brain waves to function more effective and normally. It regulates brain waves that are irregular and out of sync or “stuck”. Neurofeedback is also known as EEG (electroencephalogram) Biofeedback. The feedback gained from the observation of the brain waves allows the person to view and change the patterns into more appropriate patterns.
Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation which allows the central nervous system to function better. Dysregulation of the brain waves happen and appear in the form of anxiety, depression, attention problems, behaviour disorders and so on.
Children can be helped with problems such as sleep walking, sleep talking, bruxism, nightmares and night terrors.
Typical EEG Patterns seen with ADD kids also change form generalised slowing to normal frequencies. The most common effects reported after neurofeedback are improved sleep, better focus and concentration, less anxiety, improvement of academic abilities and more stable emotions.
